INVERTO AG publishes Financial
figures for 2007
The Cologne-based sourcing consultant INVERTO ended business year 2007 with a turnover of over €22 million, double that of 2006. The company’s domestic and international business activities have both contributed to this growth.
The domestic market generated a turnover of around €20 million. At the end of 2007, INVERTO had a workforce of 91, of which 21 were located abroad. The increasingly international nature of the business, new customers from the retail, automotive and chemical industries, and intensive involvement with leading private equity investors all made a crucial contribution to the operating result. The sourcing specialist now plans to build on this success in 2008. INVERTO is also prepared to meet the growing demand for strategic consulting and technology support.
“Sourcing continues to be a key issue for decision-makers. However, we are now finding that, alongside cost-cutting measures and readiness for growth, companies are increasingly concerned with improving supply quality and service, and expanding their supplier base accordingly,” comments Markus Bergauer, Managing Partner of INVERTO. He added that, given the current climate of scarce raw materials and the manufacture of complex products and parts, the international search for suppliers is taking on an entirely new dimension.
Sourcing also remains extremely important to private equity companies in terms of achieving success that directly affects results and, in particular, generating lasting savings for their portfolio companies. Due to the need to increase value in the long-term, the central role played by sourcing in product quality and security of supply is becoming ever more significant in the private equity sector. As the number of larger companies being taken over by financial investors is currently in decline, portfolio companies are putting value creation, and therefore sourcing, right at the top of their agendas.
Rise in demand for strategic sourcing consulting and technology support
“As a sourcing services provider, the past business year has confirmed the benefits of our combined approach of strategic consulting and tangible operational support,” says Frank Wierlemann, Managing Partner of INVERTO. When it comes to developing appropriate sourcing strategies, companies are increasingly putting their trust in INVERTO.
INVERTO’s own e-contor software, which improves the efficiency of sourcing processes, will take centre stage in 2008. At the E-Procure industry trade fair in May, INVERTO will present a completely revised version of this software as well as introducing a new contract management tool.
The expansion of international business activities is also set to make a major contribution to the company’s growth. New sites in Europe will complement its existing presence on the Asian and Eastern European purchasing markets.
